anything goes

This week over at I Faces the theme for pets is "anything goes". I thought this the perfect opportunity to introduce you to my other baby boy...Mr. Cash. Cash is my 3 year old male Siberian Husky who should have definitely been born a girl. He is the biggest drama queen, I mean king, I have ever met, but I love him all the same.
Head on over and check out all the fun stuff I Faces has to offer!

blossoms in the trees

"Warms in the sun, refreshes in the breeze, Glows in the stars, and blossoms in the trees."
-Alexandar Pope

softly the evening came

"Softly the evening came. The sun from the western horizon Like a magician extended his golden want o'er the landscape; Trinkling vapors arose; and sky and water and forest Seemed all on fire at the touch, and melted and mingled together." -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

he likes me....he likes me not!!

Such beautiful, vibrant colors....I couldn't pass up this bird without taking a picture. I must say that it didn't seem to like me much. I had to zoom ALL the way in to get this close-up!! I've always heard that peacocks are mean. I don't know if that is really true or not. Maybe I just made this one nervous!

brrrr...it's cold outside

The cold weather has definitely slowed down my picture-taking. I do not like the cold, not one little bit. I really enjoy taking outdoor pics, so being confined to the inside is taking its' toll on me. Here are just a few to hold you over!!

another step

I recently took another step in my photography journey, and purchased two editing programs (thanks Julia). I still have a lot to learn about how they work, but I've gotten my feet wet. Here are just a few pictures that I've edited with my new programs.

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Well, it's that time of year again!! The trees are up, the carols are being sung, houses are decorated, and the children are anxiously awaiting the return of Santa Clause. I think I've been good this year, so hopefully I'll get everything on my wish list! Most of all, I just want to be with the ones I love. I couldn't ask for anything more this Christmas....well, maybe some snow!

I'm addicted

Just a few more pictures before I go to bed...
This last picture is of Carter when he was only 2 months old. I already miss him being that little!

Country roads....

....really do take me home. All of the following pictures were taken within walking distance of my front door!!! Enjoy!

so...maybe I'm a pyromaniac!

a whole new whole

I am just beginning my journey into the world of photography. So far, I am loving it. I will admit that I am only a novice, and definitely have a long way to go. There have been many people who have inspired me to dive into this wonderful habit. I must express my thanks to Julia Holman, the talented and lovely photographer behind juliachristopher photography.
The photo at the top of my blog is my handsome baby boy, William Carter West. My photography "alias" is named after him & myself...alyn is my middle name.

Below are just a few of my first photos. These were taken just outside my front door. Beautiful scenery is just one of the many advantages to living in the country.

Throughout my journey, I will keep you posted of my progress through my photos. Thanks to all who are following me and showing me love & support.
