brrrr...it's cold outside

The cold weather has definitely slowed down my picture-taking. I do not like the cold, not one little bit. I really enjoy taking outdoor pics, so being confined to the inside is taking its' toll on me. Here are just a few to hold you over!!

another step

I recently took another step in my photography journey, and purchased two editing programs (thanks Julia). I still have a lot to learn about how they work, but I've gotten my feet wet. Here are just a few pictures that I've edited with my new programs.

I know it's been a while since I posted any pictures, but life has been so busy lately that I haven't done much as far as photography goes. I hope to have a session with my mom & dad soon, so keep an eye out! In the meantime, here is a picture of my photo shoot "guinea pig"!

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Well, it's that time of year again!! The trees are up, the carols are being sung, houses are decorated, and the children are anxiously awaiting the return of Santa Clause. I think I've been good this year, so hopefully I'll get everything on my wish list! Most of all, I just want to be with the ones I love. I couldn't ask for anything more this Christmas....well, maybe some snow!

Oh, and what about Eli...is he not just the cutest?!? This is Holly's nephew who went along for the ride. I caught him off-guard, he was apparently upset, but I think this picture is great!!
This was just a fun shot of the boys trying to balance on the railroad tracks!!

The weather was freezing, we fought the rain, but I think it was totally worth it!! I'm extremely proud of myself...I must say that I think I did a swell job!

first-time jitters

I'm so excited about tomorrow. It will be my first official photo shoot!!! My best friend, Holly, and her little boy, Levi, are my first victims. I've never taken any of people, besides my baby boy, so I'm anxious to see if I have that talent!! Stay tuned...I'll post pics as soon as I get them finished!

a whole new whole

I am just beginning my journey into the world of photography. So far, I am loving it. I will admit that I am only a novice, and definitely have a long way to go. There have been many people who have inspired me to dive into this wonderful habit. I must express my thanks to Julia Holman, the talented and lovely photographer behind juliachristopher photography.

The photo at the top of my blog is my handsome baby boy, William Carter West. My photography "alias" is named after him & myself...alyn is my middle name.

Below are just a few of my first photos. These were taken just outside my front door. Beautiful scenery is just one of the many advantages to living in the country.
